Winner Landscape Institute Award for King's Cross Pond Club

We're proud to announce that another of our projects has been recognised. King's Cross Pond Club was overall winner in the 'Design for a Temporary Landscape' category at the 2017 Landscape Institute Awards in London.

The much loved Pond Club was the first public freshwater bathing pond in the UK, open for two swimming seasons in 2015-2016. Located a stone's throw from King's Cross Rail Station in London and occupying a temporary site in the midst of one of the largest construction sites in London, it created a micro-ecological environment with a natural swimming pond at its centre.

Conceived as a public art project, together with Marjetica Potrč, it was commissioned by King’s Cross Central Partnership as part of the ‘Relay Art Program’ and delivered by B│D Landscape Architects. The judges said ‘This scheme set an innovative precedent for how public swimming pools could be conceived and delivered’.

We'd also like to congratulate our collaborators B│D Landscape Architects whose projects 'Lovedon Fields' and 'The Milkshake Tree' were both Highly Commended in the categories Local Landscape Planning and Design for a Temporary Landscape.

The Landscape Institute Awards are UK-wide, recognising individuals and organisations whose vision leads the way in creating innovative and dynamic landscape.
