Building on the success of our project
SMAAKSTAAT, we’re excited to be working with Mansholt Prize-winning farmer and philosopher Jan Huijgen from the
Eemlandhoeve, to develop a design for a regional and circular food system, centred on his farm in Bunschoten. The Eemlandhoeve has already for 25 years been a breeding ground for innovation in agriculture, demonstrating the value of nature-inclusive, multi-functional farming to a national and international audience, and exploring new financing and operating models that bring farmers and citizens, the countryside and the city, closer together. Together with (potential) project partners (such as Rutger Oolbekkink of
Inbo, the Province of Utrecht, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (Ministerie van LNV)) we are working to secure support and funding to progress the project further.
