Between Walls and Water, Canberra

Featuring the project: Kings Cross Pond Club

On Wednesday 9 September Ooze participated in the discussion ‘Between walls and water: A livestreamed conversation with Marjecta Potrč and Ooze’, hosted by curator Rachel Elliot-Jones of Molonglo. The event was part of a programme of talks to celebrate and communicate the future vision for Dairy Road in Canberra, Australia.

Ooze founders Eva Pfannes and Sylvain Hartenberg, alongside long term partner Marjeta Potrč discussed how design can integrate the water cycle, both in technical terms as well as socially and culturally. Drawing on previous work, such as ‘Of Soil and Water: King’s Cross Pond Club’, a public art project and chemical-free swimming pond located on a construction site in London, and ‘Between the Waters: The Emscher Community Garden’, an autonomous water treatment system and public art installation between the Emscher River and the Rhine-Herne Canal in Germany.
